My Treat

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

Not a Trick for me this year but a Treat.  Roshini Multi Media recently received a special package in the mail.  Getting Ink & Air just got its federally registered trademark.  Now, instead of seeing TM after the words of our marketing strategy training, we can use the federal mark legally.

The entire process takes nearly a year.  And you could meet goblins along the way…or at least some who want to challenge your ability to use your words.  Luckily, that didn’t happen to us.  But it’s a relief when the post office delivers official word.

Happy Halloween!  May you find more treats than tricks.

Brain Drain

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007

A consistent theme lately with some clients.  Whether it’s someone I’m prepping for a media interview or a group I’m helping become more sound bite savvy.  Amazingly intelligent people seem to freeze up when they know a camera’s rolling.  I know they’re not less smart or witty.  So what gives?

I suggest you remember you are the expert and the one the media sought out to give analysis, background, or commentary on a particular subject.  You don’t lose all brain function or bodily control just because a camera started to record your insight.  Remember you are in a position of power.  In many cases, the interview is happening on your turf.  And no matter where it is, the words coming out of your mouth come from years of understanding and/or doing something you know more about than most other people.

Armed with this confidence, may your brain NOT drain…but stay hinged and your words fluid.
